Matrimonial bureaus for selecting your life partner

Marriages can be of two kinds- love marriages and arranged marriages. The number of love marriages in India is relatively less than the number of arranged marriages that take place every year throughout the country. The rise of the matrimonial bureaus around the length and breadth of the country has helped in quickening the pace of fixing marriages and selecting the correct life partner for the individuals.
In earlier times, the priest of every family used to perform the religious rituals for the family and also find suitable life partners for the girl or boy in the family after they reached a certain age. They searched for prospective life partners within the members of their community. As they were the priests, they had greater knowledge of the people in their community. They helped in the communication process between the two families and initiated the talk of the marriage. They were responsible for fixing meetings between the two households and also in the meeting of the girl or the boy with their prospective in-laws. After the marriage was settled, the priests also did the wedding rituals.
With changing times, the priests lost their popularity and individuals turned to matrimonial bureaus for the selection of their prospective son-in-laws or daughter-in-laws. These bureaus have a wide range of the profiles of individuals from all castes and sections of the society. This is helpful in selection of the brides and the bridegrooms. The bureaus maintain a wide database of the profiles of individuals. The individuals have to pay a fixed sum for the maintenance of their profiles in the matrimonial website of the bureau. After the creation of the profile, a picture of the person is added and this completes the procedure. The profile of a person contains his name, educational background, height, skin color, caste, economic status and a brief family history. This helps in easier selection for marriage purposes. The marriage bureaus have now developed websites of their own for this purpose. They upload all the information on their website. People from around the country and even abroad can go through the site and select their life partner. They can give their requirement in the search box and the website will come up with results matching their search. This has eased the process of selection of boys and girls for marriage. Even the boys and girls can chat on the internet and get to know each other. Then they can contact their parents and finally fix the marriage. In this modern time, when saving time and money is an important factor, matrimonial bureaus are very helpful in fixing marriages of people.
The bureaus saw a decline in their popularity with the rise of love marriages some years back. But after some time, there has been a decline in the number of love marriages. The business of the bureaus has again increased and this has also helped individuals in fixing their marriage.
Matrimonial bureaus have therefore gained a good foothold over the marriage scenario in India.
